wrote about get into digital media on the blog a few weeks ago. and here they are, four great films - each one a minute long... have a look, inspiring stuff.

done a fair bit of work this week... including, a more on the just-b re:boot re:place event which is at the sage in newcastle 30 march .. and in other just-b news b:TWEEN 09 tickets are on sale (early bird discounts) a must attend for any rising entrepreneur in the creative industries.

bryn christopher, bashy, kerry leatham, hannah-rose and ava leigh unplugged at stratford circus, east london

did a production managers job for urban development on thursday night... thanks for asking me eunice really enjoyed it and what a fantastic show. bryn chistopher headlined and performed an inspiring stax type soul boy slot, such a strong voice almost like a contemporary tom jones... and beyond cool mic technique... first time i heard a bloke sing a cover of "aint nobody" (the chaka khan classic and one of my fav tunes) and he nailed it big time. bashy played too and did his usual audience engaging stuff.. rocking the venue on a conscious tip... ava leigh did a couple of songs including her new single la la la... kerry leatham who was fresh news to me (bashy found her on myspace, think she was on the adulthood soundtrack?) but a lovely intellegent take on a kind of sensitive urban folk thing (i asked what genre it was and kerry was not going to be pigeon holed - respect)... also hannah-rose who again, was news to me. such a powerful good time sassy stomping voice.. travelled all the way from blackpool.. played with her guitarist and provided the show with a lot of girl power.... and finally, i've got to big up the house band, jazz super group tomorrows warriors (mentored by award winning double bassist gary crosby) ... they were brilliant.

really enjoyed working with all the good people at stratford circus, big up fusion, goo and nick.. rachel bee and ashanty.. and all the others who helped to deliver the event.

will be dropping tunes from all these artists next week on my sunday morning purple radio show.

and by coincidence, during the show i recieved a text from michael nicholas (fire brigades union - executive officer for black and ethnic minories) ... an old mate... to say he was sitting in the audience and could see me working and would i fancy a beer after ... then.. in the interval he
won the raffle, a bottle of champagne and a couple of cargo tickets, it's a small world :)

purple radio dj slot // 15 feb 2009

a fortnight after the last purple radio dj slot, did another this morning, sunday 15 feb 2009. mentioned before that i went to visit karen p in clarkenwell on monday .. and she gave me a promo cd-rom with some very records on, a few of which i played today. including the lush, lush grace jones - williams blood yam who mix.. and el guincho - palmitos park, which is a glorious summary beach boys surfs up type tune.

while im here thanks very much to all those who are subbing to the podcast downloads of my purple radio shows. according to the stats... listeners are downloading from as far away from uk as marthas vineyard in massachusetts USA to singapore... listeners from finland.. norway.. west africa, romania, manchester, edinburgh and sheffield. it's great to have you all on board - viva interweb!

thea poets at rich mix

was in london on thursday - for a meeting with million women rise in the mall... afterwards i popped upto rich mix at the top of brick lane... to grab some photos of thea poets. they were doing a show there.. amazing poetry.






also had a meeting today with katz about some btween stuff in newcastle.

get into digital media <4>

for the last few weeks have been lead tutor on a filmmaking course - get into digital media, with princes trust, working for circus media in stratford circus, east london.

this is my third time inspiring stuff.

did some more work on bournemouth and poole "mix it up" project... the dj collective will play a dj slot at camp bestival... a real result.

lastly ... went to see karen p in clerkenwell.. for a natter... and she gave me some nice promos, some of which i will play this sunday on purple radio. must write a review of that tony allen gig at cargo last month soon, i got some nice photos.
